FAQs

How much does a one-week rental cost?    All of the prices and terms for motor home rentals can be found on our web site.  Go to our Rate Page.

What about insurance?    Van Boxtel RV Rental LLC provides the State of Wisconsin minimums for insurance coverage. Additional rental insurance must be provided by renter and a copy of the policy shown when the vehicle is picked up. Many automotive insurance carriers can provide a rider to your current automotive policy to cover the rental of an RV. Rental Insurance is available through Van Boxtel RV at a weekly rate starting at $120 with $500 deductible for motor homes or tent campers and travel trailers start at $30 to $40.

Is there a minimum amount of time that we have to rent?    For motor homes and travel trailers:  during the high season from June 1- August 31 there is a minimum of 7 days. During our low season from Sept – May there is a 3 day minimum rental.  Tent campers can be rented by the week, weekend, or mid-week. 

Is mileage included in the rental cost?  No, there are no miles included with the rental of a motor home. The cost of mileage is .31 cents per mile.  With travel trailers or tent campers you have unlimited miles at no charge.

What deposit is required to reserve?  Motor homes require a $500.  Travel Trailers require a $100.   Tent Campers require $50.  The deposits are per week and non-refundable as we are reserving this time frame for you. The deposit can be made by cash, check, or credit card.   

Is there a charge for the generator?  No, our prices include the use of the generator for the motor homes.  We do not rent generators for travel trailers or tent campers.  We do have recommendations of places that we can forward on to you.

What kind of gas mileage will we get on the motor homes?  Mileage depends on several factors such as your speed, terrain, winds, and vehicle weight. You can expect to average anywhere between 8 and 12 miles per gallon.  The 23’ View will get approximately 16-18 mpg.

Do I need a special driver’s license to drive a motor home?  No, all you need is to be at least 21 years of age or older and possess a valid drivers license. No special endorsement is needed. Van Boxtel RV Rental LLC will run drivers license check on each driver at the time of the reservation to verify that all drivers are valid. Van Boxtel RV Rental al LLC does reserve the right to refuse rental to anyone if they do not have a valid driver’s license or an extensive driving record.

Is it difficult to drive a motor home?    Motor homes, handle much like a car especially the class “C” which has a van chassis.

Besides the rental cost are there any other charges I will incur?    There is tax on the rental charges. You will also have to pay for any extra mileage at the end of the rental if you go over. There is a fee charged if the RV is not returned full of fuel, tanks dumped, and the unit cleaned. There is also an additional fee for late returns.

Does the motor home come with a TV, VCR, DVD, cable TV, or a stereo?  The 31’ and 34’  rentals come with a color TV with hook up for your dvd/video player.

Are there roll out awnings on the motor home?    Yes, there is an 18' roll out awning included with the base price.

Are pets allowed in the motor home?    We prefer no pets for courtesy of all renters.  We have a Pet Friendly policy if you are interested please see a rental agent.  We ask that all be courteous to the following renters who may have sensitivity issues.

Is smoking allowed in the motor home?    No, for all customers’ satisfaction smoking is not allowed in the motor home.   Be courteous to those with sensitive issues.

Is there a limit to how many people can ride in the motor home?    The largest unit has seatbelts to accommodate up to 9 people with seating up to 10 people.  Seatbelts are required and we do not recommend exceeding the maximum capacity as posted in the actual vehicle you will be using.

n I park my car at your rental center while I travel?    Yes.

Are we allowed to travel into Mexico or Canada?    Travel into Mexico is prohibited.   Travel to Canada is allowed.

How do I pay for the rental?    All payments can be made by cash, cashiers check, travelers check, money order, personal check, and major credit cards when approved.

Can we tow my car or boat behind the motor home?    We do allow the towing of boats as long as the maximum tongue weight of 200 lb and a maximum gross weight of 2500 pounds is not exceeded. We do not allow cars to be towed behind the motor home.  You are responsible for your own receiver and ball.

Is it possible to rent an RV in the winter?    Yes, our motor homes will have been winterized.  In some cases you may need to pour antifreeze in the holding tanks to avoid freezing. Repairs can be very costly if the tanks or pipes are damaged so extreme care is needed if traveling through a colder climate.  If traveling to warmer climates, de-winterization can be done but winterization must be done when it is returned for a minimal charge.

What if I return the motor home before the date is due?    No refunds or credits will be made for early returns or late pickups.

What if I am involved in an accident?    You must notify Van Boxtel RV Rental LLC within 24 hours of an accident and make a full report in writing as well as obtaining a police report.

What if the motor home breaks down?    All units have access to 24 hour roadside assistance.  We will also reimburse renter for all necessary repairs not caused directly or indirectly by misuse, carelessness, or negligence of the renter. Repairs over $75 must have prior approval.

Are there bike racks?    Yes, A bike rack that holds up to four bikes can be rented for $25 upon your request.  There are limited bike racks so please reserve with your reservation.  Certain motor homes can not accommodate the bike rack, please inquire with rental agent.    

What if I have to cancel my reservation?    All deposits are non-refundable.  If you would need to cancel, you can use the deposit towards any other unit or time frame until the end of the season.  Because we are a seasonal business and want to make sure we optimize the schedule, we want you to be sure of your time frame.
